Advanced Coaching & Mentoring

Coaching & mentoring is an intensive approach to working with both individuals and small teams. It enables and empowers, motivates and encourages others to attain personal and professional learning goals. This approach provides a way of reflecting on and developing effectiveness and excellence at work and in living. It will also promote self-awareness and self-responsibility.

Who Should Attend

This dynamic course is for experienced managers, consultants, health professionals, educators and change agents. It will also benefit people who already work with individuals or small teams/groups in a formal coaching/mentoring capacity and who have attended Robenny courses' basic coaching & mentoring course.

What You Will Cover

  • Advanced use of the "Gateways to coaching & mentoring" including intensive guiding and enabling, managing feelings, facilitating meaning, challenging and supporting.
  • Negotiating personal expectations and direction with organisational/professional goals.
  • Understanding organisational dynamics, their impact on the mentoree and on you as a coach/mentor.
  • Working with challenging organisations, teams and/or individuals.
  • Observing, sensing and working with overt and covert (non) verbal cues.
  • Developing self-awareness of the mentoree, including recognition of patterns over time and recognising and managing the links between the personal and professional realities of the mentoree.
  • Change, transformation and stress management including change cycles.
  • Examining the uniqueness and the limits of the coaching and mentoring process, its focus and your role as a coach and mentor.

Teaching and learning methods

  • Skills training and practice, using role play and simulation, intensive coaching, pair and triad work, observation & analysis, peer mentoring & feedback.
  • Experiential learning, reflecting on and learning from your thoughts, feelings, sensations and intuitions as well as from past experiences and your innate wisdom.
  • Introducing a wide range of models and theories.
  • Modeling different styles of coaching & mentoring to explore their use and relevance.

Pre-requisite

  • This course is primarily for those who have attended Robenny courses' 2-day basic coaching & mentoring course and who already formally coach/mentor in their current role.
